I am Gray Frog Photography, a hobbyist photographer who lives in, and is native of, Maine. I mostly enjoy taking photos of nature, rural life, working class life, and small town life here in my homeland to preserve it permanently before we are all reduced to nothing. My photography is both something of an art project and historical preservation project. It's both me taking photos of things I think are pretty, and things I want to prove existed before it's gone. Consider all my photos that I post to the internet to be licensed under CC-BY-NC-ND. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/

Two photos of the "Black Bridge" in Westbrook, Maine.

The "Black Bridge" is the name given by local Westbrook citizens to an old and abandoned train bridge over the Presumpscott River that today has been made to be used for foot traffic by the addition of a metal walkway on the western side. It gets heavy traffic and people are grateful for it.

Crossing Tannery Brook in Gorham.

This is a 2016 photo of Tannery Brook in Gorham, Maine, in the Hemlock Forest north of the university. A lot of the students build forts and shelters from fallen trees along Tannery Brook.

A bee on a sunflower in my mothers garden.

A bee on a sunflower in my mothers garden. This is a crop, not the full photo, but I really like it this way. The EXIF data says took this photo in 2006, and that's probably correct but it also says it's 8PM which is obviously wrong based on the lighting.
It's a very old photo in my collection, and yet after all these years it still remains one of my favorite photos I have ever taken. The bee is dead, and my mothers sunflower is dead, but in this photo I took they remain forever. This photo proves they existed.

Maybe I will also post the uncropped version later.

Waterfall in Vassalboro in 2005.

I took this photo in Vassalboro in, 2005, I think. The EXIF data says 2005 but at 5AM and since it's not dark out I'll assume 5AM is wrong.
It's one of the waterfalls on Mill Stream. This area today has lost a lot of it's trees and natural beauty to the development of a fish ladder.
You can see some bricks stacked there at the top that me and my friend found when we were climbing all over the waterfall.
